March 17, Cancelled
March 24, Cancelled
March 31, Cancelled
Dear Montco Band members, after monitoring the events of the past 24 hours regarding the Covid 19 situation I have been in contact with the leadership of the band and have made the decision that it is in the best interest of our members to cancel rehearsals for the remainder of the month of March. I can only hope that this epidemic may begin to subside during that time and we may be able to resume rehearsals in April, but that isn’t a certainty at this time. We believe that it is better to act on the side of caution given the speed that this seems to be moving and seeing the decisions being made by groups much larger than ours, i.e. the NBA, NCAA, and others. In fact I was notified this morning that the Pennsylvania State Capital building will be closed to all but essential personnel. I trust that you will all continue to practice your instrument and when we get together again we will be ready to go. I will continue to be in touch as things evolve.
On a somewhat brighter note, I also want to thank everyone for their attendance on Tuesday, and especially for your attention and professionalism given to Patrick Burns as he took us through a great rehearsal of Silver Celebration. Whether we perform this in May or have to wait until next November, the rehearsal itself was well worth it and I hope all of you got as much out of it as I did.
